چکیده

We present results of a scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) study of the nucleation and growth of silver clusters grown by vapor deposition on a rutile TiO2(110)-1 · 1 surface. We have scanned, with atomic resolution, the same surface area before and after Ag deposition, to determine the relationship between the nucleation sites and various surface defects. We have found that small precursor strands of (1 · 2) surface reconstruction have a higher propensity to nucleate Ag clusters than missing-oxygen vacancies and C-type defects. All studies were performed at room temperature, a regime in which the clusters nucleate and grow during the deposition, but do not coarsen. 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Pinning mass-selected Agn clusters on the TiO2(110)-1x1 surface via deposition at high kinetic energy.

We present the first scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) study of the deposition of mass-selected silver clusters (Ag(n),n=1, 2, 3) on a rutile TiO(2)(110)-1x1 surface at room temperature under hard-landing conditions. Under hard-landing conditions, only small features are observed on the surface in all cases without sintering or surface damage. This suggests that the high impact energy of the ...

ساخت نانو فیبرهای کربنی پوشیده از نانوذرات مسی با استفاده از روش نشست بخار شیمیایی حرارتی بر روی نانوذرات کاتالیستی نیکل آبکاری شده روی زیرلایه مسی

Carbon nanofibers (CNFs) decorated with Cu2O particles were grown on a Ni catalyst layer deposited on a Cu substrate by thermal. chemical vapor deposition from liquid petroleum gas. Ni catalyst nanoparticles with different sizes were produced in an electroplating system at 35˚C. These nanoparticles provide the nucleation sites for CNF growth, removing the need for a buffer layer. High temperat...

Quantitative modelling of nucleation kinetics in experiments for poly-Si growth on SiO by hot wire chemical vapor deposition

We apply a rate-equation pair binding model of nucleation kinetics to the nucleation of Si islands grown by hot wire chemical vapor deposition on SiO substrates. The grain size of poly-Si films increases with H dilution, which is attributed to atomic H 2 2 etching of Si monomers rather than stable Si clusters during the early stages of nucleation. The nucleation density increases sublinearly wi...

MD-Simulation of Duty Cycle and TaN Interlayer Effects on the Surface Properties of Ta Coatings Deposited by Pulsed-DC Plasma Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition

In this work, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were employed to investigate the effects of duty cycle changes and utilization of tantalum nitride interlayer on the surface roughness and adhesion of Ta coating deposited by pulsed-DC plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition. To examine the simulation results, some selected deposition conditions were experimentally implemented and characterize...

Cluster size effects on sintering, CO adsorption, and implantation in Ir/SiO(2).

A series of planar model catalysts have been prepared via deposition of Ir(n) (+) on thermally grown amorphous SiO(2)/Si(100) and ion scattering spectroscopy was used to probe surface structure as a function of cluster size, impact energy, and surface temperature. Deposition of Ir(2) or Ir(10) at low energies and room temperature results in stable clusters forming one- or two-dimensional single...
